This August, a mandatory software update (version 20-2) will be released for StarFire 3000 and 6000 receivers. This update is required for 3000 and 6000 receivers to continue operating on SF correction signal past February 1, 2021.
Due to governmental satellite changes, StarFire iTC receivers will no longer function past February 1, 2021, except to receive WAAS signal. Without a higher correction signal, AutoTrac and other advanced guidance systems will not function. This change will also impact StarFire 3000 and 6000 receivers that are not updated to the mandatory 20-2 version.
To ensure the transition is smooth, Horizon Equipment's AMS specialists will be following a specific order of events:
August to November 2020: Your AMS specialist will be in contact with you to schedule and update for your StarFire 3000 and/or 6000 receiver(s).
December 2020 to January 2021: Our AMS specialists will be updating our RTK network base station towers.
February 2021: The frequency of the government satellite network will change, and all StarFire 3000 and 6000 receivers not updated to 20-2 software will stop functioning.
